Role Description
Genesis Tech Engineers is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Senior BIM Modeler to join our engineering team in Pune. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and reviewing high-quality BIM models for complex engineering and infrastructure projects, including semiconductor manufacturing facilities and industrial facilities.
The Senior BIM Modeler will work closely with engineers, BIM Coordinators, project managers, and clients in the United States to develop accurate and coordinated models and engineering deliverables. The role also involves providing technical guidance to junior team members and supporting the implementation of efficient BIM workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed 3D BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD based on engineering requirements, design drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Create and maintain accurate models for mechanical, MEP, equipment, piping, structural, architectural, or other assigned engineering disciplines.
- Develop complex equipment layouts and spatial arrangements for industrial and semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, equipment data, and client requirements and translate them into accurate BIM models.
- Coordinate models with MEP, structural, architectural, civil, and other engineering disciplines.
- Perform model reviews and identify design inconsistencies, spatial conflicts, and coordination issues.
- Support clash detection and resolution using Navisworks and Revit.
- Conduct detailed BIM model QA/QC to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
- Review models and drawings prepared by Junior and BIM Modelers and provide technical feedback.
- Ensure proper use of Revit families, templates, parameters, worksets, shared coordinates, levels, and project standards.
- Update BIM models based on engineering revisions, design changes, and client comments.
- Prepare plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and other BIM-related project deliverables.
- Maintain model integrity and ensure that project changes are properly incorporated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and communicate technical modeling and coordination issues to the relevant teams.
- Work directly with engineers and project stakeholders to understand requirements and develop appropriate modeling solutions.
- Assist BIM Coordinators and Project Managers with project planning, model development, and coordination activities.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to Junior BIM Modelers and BIM Modelers.
- Assist in developing and maintaining BIM standards, modeling guidelines, templates, and workflows.
- Identify opportunities to improve modeling efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Develop or support Dynamo scripts and BIM automation workflows to reduce repetitive modeling tasks where applicable.
- Maintain proper file organization, model version control, and BIM documentation.
- Ensure project deliverables comply with relevant US engineering, construction and BIM standards.
- Manage assigned modeling tasks independently while meeting project schedules and quality requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in BIM modeling and engineering design.
- Advanced working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong experience developing detailed 3D BIM models for complex projects.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Strong understanding of one or more disciplines such as MEP, mechanical systems, HVAC, piping, structural, architectural, or industrial equipment.
- Experience with multidisciplinary model coordination.
- Working knowledge of Navisworks and clash detection.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards, modeling practices, and QA/QC procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on semiconductor manufacturing facilities, industrial facilities, data centers, cleanrooms, or other complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience with Revit MEP or discipline-specific Revit workflows.
- Experience with complex equipment modeling and facility space planning.
- Experience with BIM coordination and clash resolution.
- Knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 or similar CDE platforms.
- Knowledge of Dynamo and BIM automation.
- Experience with Intergraph Smart 3D / SmartPlant 3D is an advantage.
- Familiarity with US engineering, construction, and BIM standards.
- Experience working with international or US-based clients is preferred.
